-Born of Darkness-
In the Pacific Northwest, under the skies of endless grey and rain, Inpathos came to be…
In 2018, guitarist Adonis Reed-Boulos decided it was finally time to put music he’d been sitting on for years to record. After numerous pitiful attempts at doing so on a dated tablet running free recording software, he finally found a beam of hope in a long-time friend and prior bandmate - guitarist Anthony Nelson. With Anthony’s assistance the first release from Inpathos, the Divinity LP, was recorded and released in the summer of 2020 despite the challenges presented by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Anthony officially became the second member of the previously solo project, and the band began taking shape in earnest with Nabil Reed-Boulos joining as drummer. Vocalist Jordan Siu and bassist Brendan Brendible joined soon after, completing the lineup. After a year of great shows and the release of the “March Towards a Blackened Sun” LP, Jordan parted ways with the band. After a short time filling in live vocal duties, Patrick Bradford officially joined Inpathos in 2023 as master of vocal mayhem! With our new Ascension EP now available, a third album in the works, and a host of shows on the horizon, we are here and ready to ascend to new heights.
We are Inpathos.

The Music
Our debut release Divinity began as a collection of songs written by Adonis. They were a very raw expression of personal struggles, and thus a very raw overall tone was adopted for all aspects of the album. After beginning to work with Jordan, Anthony, Nabil and Benjamin Crabill to execute the actual recording of the material, each of them brought their own unique style to the music. Nabil and Anthony spruced up the original drum tracks, Jordan made several adjustments to lyrics and flow of vocal sections, and Benjamin Crabill lent his own unique style to bring the clean vocals to life in the tracks "Divinity" and "Vanity." The track Winter Lantern was a truly collaborative writing effort with the intro riffs inspiring the rest of the song being written by Nabil, the drums and clean outro the work of Anthony, and Jordan taking complete creative control of the vocal structure. The end result is an album that is raw, passionate, and which planted the roots from which we would begin to grow as a group.
After the release of Divinity, in the early stages of writing for a follow up album, Gungnir was written and recorded by Anthony and Jordan. The energetic track was released as a standalone single a few months after the release of Divinity and offered a great taste of what was to come...
Fast forward several months further, and the COVID-19 related travel-restrictions were still in full swing with the ongoing pandemic. With three members living in Washington (state) in the U.S. and one living in Vancouver, BC just across the border in Canada, this yet again posed a challenge as we were preparing to record the newly written and material for our follow up album. With no end to the pandemic in sight, we decided to record remotely this time around as well.
For us, the best part of March Towards a Blackened Sun was that it was a truly collaborative effort. Each of the four existing members played a role in the writing of their parts for the tracks, in contributing song ideas, brainstorming titles, track sequencing, lyrical and musical themes, etc. We were writing as a band. The final product is the result of many hours spent on group calls, weeks of tireless work, and months of diligent writing. It is a snapshot of who we are as a band right now, and we are beyond proud of it.
ALL ABOUT THAT BASS
The end of 2021 brought an exciting change for Inpathos: a bassist! We found ourselves beyond lucky to add the musical prowess of Brendan Brendible to our lineup in December. With his joining Inpathos is now fully armed and operational, and we can’t wait to have him contribute the sick bass grooves on the next album.
PASSING OF THE TORCH…
Or rather the mic… though it may become a torch in the hands of our new vocalist Patrick Bradford. Jordan departed the band in late 2022 to pursue some exciting opportunities, and shortly after we were lucky enough to have Patrick step in to unleash sonic hellfire on the mic. Patrick joins us at the opportune moment as we are preparing to release a new EP and begin writing on our third LP, both of which will feature him on vocal duties.
Looking to the Future...
With the full brunt of the pandemic lockdowns behind us, we are ready to move onward and upward. We are thrilled to have live music back in full force and to be playing regularly, and we already have big ideas for upcoming music that will push our limits as a band, help us break through our ceilings and grow as musicians, and ultimately connect with metalheads and music-lovers everywhere!
